Improving accessibility and fostering open communication are more than essential, they are critical. Both areas stand to gain significantly from technological improvements. A key step in this process is to update the township website as the foundation for enhanced communication and accessibility. By restructuring and expanding the content of our website, we can ensure that important information and resources are readily and easily available to our residents. Residents deserve access to information and timely responses to their requests.
A Vision for Comprehensive Road Planning
To ensure we do not face challenges of the past, it is essential to do long-term planning, which will enable us to address maintenance needs proactively for all our roads and avoid falling behind.
The primary goal is to maintain the quality of our roads using the resources available in our current tax base. By focusing on responsible budgeting, we can prevent the need for significant tax increases that might burden our residents or make it difficult for anyone to remain in our community.
Achieving this vision will require a great deal of hard work, careful planning, thorough preparation, and strong collaboration among all stakeholders. By working together, we can find the best solutions to support and benefit everyone in West Lakeland.

To all residents of West Lakeland Township, I am confident that through thoughtful, comprehensive long-term planning and commitment, we’ll be able to make meaningful progress to providing regular routine maintenance and improvements to our roads, and keeping our technology updated for ease of use and information. This technology will give us access to board meetings, current and upcoming events, ordinances, permits, and all other government/township information that we may need. Long term planning encourages overall resident engagement, which supports preserving and protecting our unique rural residential lifestyle moving forward.
